Before you scroll, before you take it, before you talk yourself out of it.

This is a mirror.

The job is handled. The house runs. The kids are fed and where they need to be. You've got strong opinions about grills and yard care and somehow the garage stays cleaner than your diet. The discipline was never the problem. You just haven't pointed any of it at yourself in a long time.

I know because that was me. Everything in my life looked like somebody who had his shit together, except the part that actually was me. So I started fixing that, and it landed in five places. My mornings, my body, my inputs, my house, my family. In that order, because each one made the next one easier to hold.

This isn't a plan and it doesn't tell you what to do. It tells you where you're losing, and those are different things. The second one is the part you've been avoiding.

You've had everything dialed except you. Six questions and you'll know where.

Three minutes. Nothing to type until the end.

02 / THE INVENTORY
02

The Honest Inventory

Where you actually stand. Not where you tell yourself you stand.

Five areas plus your standards, one question each, six answers to pick from. Pick the honest one and not the one that sounds best. There's no score to win here, and I've answered every one of these badly at some point.

01 / MORNING

Your Morning

The alarm goes off and the phone is in your hand before your feet hit the floor. You haven't made one decision yet and the day is already running without you.

What does the first 15 minutes of your day actually look like?

HONEST. KEEP GOING.
02 / BODY

Your Body

Somewhere between "I used to be in shape" and "I'll get back to it." That in-between has been going on for years and it stopped feeling urgent a long time ago.

Honest answer: how would you describe your current relationship with your body?

LOCKED IN. KEEP GOING.
03 / INPUTS

Your Inputs

You already know roughly what the number is, which is why you haven't opened the screen time report. Mine was worse than I expected too.

What's your honest average daily screen time on your phone?

THE SCREEN TIME REPORT DOESN'T LIE. KEEP GOING.
04 / HOUSE

Your House

There's something sitting in your house right now that's been there since February. Somebody has mentioned it more than once. You can picture it.

Think of the one thing in your house that's been sitting too long without getting handled. Where do you stand on it?

THAT ONE STINGS. KEEP GOING.
05 / FAMILY

Your Family

Home every night, present on the weekends, doing all the right things technically. Your wife and your kids are still getting whatever's left of you after everything else took its cut.

When was the last time your family got your full, undivided attention... no phone, no split focus?

THAT'S THE ONE THAT HURTS. KEEP GOING.
06 / STANDARDS

Your Standards

You've got ambitions, resolutions and intentions stacked up like New Year's promises. A standard is a different animal. It's the line you don't go below regardless of how the day feels.

How many real standards... not goals, not intentions... are you actually running right now?

LAST ONE. TIME FOR THE RESULTS.

Your Honest Inventory
Is Ready

Name and email and it's yours. I'll send you a copy so you've got it in writing, and so you can't pretend you never saw it.

A copy goes to you and a copy comes to me. Now two people know.

YOUR HONEST INVENTORY

Here's where you actually stand.

THE ONE THAT'S GOING TO FIGHT YOU
YOUR BODY

This is the standard you'll want to renegotiate first.

WHERE YOU'RE ALREADY SHARP

YOUR RESULT

You don't fix five things at once. You do one thing about the one that stings, today, and then tomorrow you do another one. That isn't a strategy, it's arithmetic.

Jake dropped 20 in two months doing exactly that, Rob 15, Jeff 10 on nothing but walking. None of them had a coach writing them a plan. They just kept doing it somewhere other guys could see it.

You've got the honest answer now. Nothing about it changes until you do one thing with it.

The Reset is free and there's nothing to sign up for. The group is $49 a month, no contract. The call is twenty minutes and it isn't a sales call.

03 / THE FIVE
03

The Five Standards

In this order, because each one makes the next one cheaper to hold.

You are who you choose to be. Not who you decide to be... who you're seen being, five days a week, by the people in your house. These are the five.

01

Your Mornings

Get up. Don't chase it.

The snooze button isn't a sleep strategy, it's the first negotiation of the day, and I lost that one most mornings for years. The morning version of you is the dumbest and most negotiable version of you that exists, so quit asking that guy to make good decisions in real time. Lay the clothes out, set the coffee, put the phone in another room the night before. Win this one and the other four get cheaper.

02

Your Body

Move your ass.

You could write yourself a workable program in fifteen minutes with what you already know, so knowledge was never the problem. Neither was time, and you found some to binge a show last week. Twenty minutes, five days, at home. I started at 44 having never touched a weight and went 235 to 175 in five months on used dumbbells I bought off a guy on Marketplace.

03

Your Inputs

Create... don't consume.

You've spent years watching other men do the thing you stopped doing. Their training, their opinions, their garage builds, their arguments with strangers. None of it is yours and none of it leaves anything behind. So the standard here isn't scrolling less, it's making something... build it, cook it, write it, play it, fix the thing you keep meaning to fix. It doesn't have to be good, it has to be yours. Then put one wall up so the time exists, because it isn't going to appear on its own.

04

Your House

Handle it. Don't step over it.

Your garage has a labeling system and there's mail from February on the kitchen counter. The effort exists. It's just been pointed at the parts of the house that make you feel in control instead of the part somebody actually asked you about twice. A house gets sloppy in inches, and the standard adjusts downward to match without ever announcing it did.

05

Your Family

Go first.

Your family already adjusted, and that's the part that stings. If she stopped asking you to put the phone down it isn't because she's fine with it. If your kid stopped asking you to come outside it isn't because he outgrew it. Being home is not the same as being in the room, and I was nearby for a long time before I figured out the difference.

Hold those and you stop being the guy who's going to get to it. You become the guy who already did.
04 / THE ENGINE
04

Why Yours Keep Slipping

It was never one big collapse.

A goal is something you try to reach. A standard is something you refuse to drop below. One of those changes when motivation fades and the other one doesn't, and you're probably carrying a dozen of the first kind and none of the second.

Nobody drops a standard dramatically. It goes in the negotiation. Just today. It's been a long week. I'll make it up tomorrow. Every one of those sounds reasonable in the moment and every one makes the next exception easier to sign off on, and I ran that script for years without once noticing I was running it.

The other thing that kills it is the lag. You do the right things for a week, nothing looks different, so the math feels broken and you quit during the boring part. The math isn't broken. Small effort compounds quietly for a while and then shows up all at once. Terrible timing, and it's the only way it has ever gone.

So a standard has to be small enough to hold on your worst day, not your best one. If it needs perfect conditions it isn't a standard, it's a performance. And it has to be visible, because a standard nobody can see costs nothing to drop.

You never failed at being consistent. You failed at holding a standard today.
05 / WHAT'S NEXT
05

Where This Goes

You've seen it. Now what.

You've got the diagnosis, which is worth about seventy two hours before it gets filed under things you'll deal with eventually. I know the shelf life because I filed it about a dozen times.

The 5 Day Dad Reset is what you do about it. Five days, one standard a day, each one stacked on the last and none of them dropped. It's free, there's nothing to sign up for, and it tells you flat out what counts and what doesn't so you're not standing in the garage at nine at night deciding whether that counted.

Day one is mornings for everybody regardless of what your Inventory just said, because that's the order that holds. What your weakest area told you is which day you're going to go looking for a reason to skip.

START THE 5 DAY RESET →

Free. Nothing to sign up for, and every day of it asks you for proof.

That's the whole next step, and there's nothing after it unless you go looking. If somewhere in there you decide you'd rather not do it by yourself, the room is where I am every day and it'll still be there when you finish.

JOIN THE GROUP →

$49 a month. No contract, leave whenever.

And if you're already consistent and what you actually want is somebody dialing it in with you, that's a different conversation and we should just have it. Twenty minutes, not a sales call, and if the answer is you don't need me I'll say that.

BOOK A CALL WITH ME →

Twenty minutes. Free.
